This is what I’ve been working on for the last three weeks. It’s the result of a workshop in Fine Arts with the theme “icons” (computer icons/celebrities/fashion icons/religious icons, etc).
I chose to work with movie icons from two different eras. This project has been a lot about ideals, patterns and anatomy. I named the project Iconatomy from the words “icon” and “anatomy.”
I have worked with a collage technique, but in a computer, which for me is a first. I am really pleased with the end product and I want to develop this concept further.

You know those moments when you suddenly realize something? Something that deep down you already knew, but now it’s solid understanding?
I’m listening an audio book [Radical by David Platt] that I got at work the other day. Its main theme is about how in this day and age, we forget what it really means to live like Jesus. Something he was saying though really struck me and gave me this revelation.
God loves us where we are. He does not expect us to change or become a better person or try to accomplish great things before we come to Him. He loves us right where we are. BUT. That doesn’t mean that He wants us to stay there. Once we surrender to Him, He wants to grow us, mold us, change us into the person He wants us to become.
I know, it’s a very simple idea, but it’s so important. We cannot become perfect in our own strength and we cannot do anything to deserve His love. He simply loves us. But when we choose to love Him and follow Him, He does not allow us to stay where we were at first. He wants better for us than that. He wants us to be more like Him.
It’s a beautiful thing. =]

I had a dream a couple nights ago about someone who hurt me really badly a few years ago. Whenever I had dreamed about her before, it was always painful, like rehashing everything that I went through. I hadn’t had a dream about her in a long time, but in my dream the other day, we were sort of friends again. This wouldn’t actually happen in real life, but when I woke up, I felt like I had finally completely forgiven her. After 3 years, I’ve finally let the last of it go.
Thank You, Lord, for Your grace and forgiveness which enable me to forgive others. If You have forgiven me when I don’t deserve it in the slightest, how much more should I forgive others. Your love is amazing. Thank You. <3
